(and yes it's another long one)
Christmas has come and gone and we are still sorting thru the chaos. This year was just so busy, we didn't get any decorations up, no going to look at the lights, no crafts, nothing. But all in all I still think it was our best christmas ever. It was so fun seeing Isabel actually realizing what christmas is and who Santa is. In fact she may have a little too good of a grasp on him.
The Sat before Xmas, Gpa and Gma took the kids basically just so I could do one big wrapping session. While over at their house Gpa took Isabel to the park because Santa was suppose to be stopping by. While waiting Isabel was playing with 2 other girls, one about her age and the other a little older. When Santa got there Gpa asked Isabel
"Santa's here. Do you want to go see him Isabel?"
"No Gpa, that's not the real Santa"
The girls who were on their way stopped midstep
"What???"
"The real Santa is at home."
"YYYYOOOUURR HOME??"
"No his house, making toys."
"Ohhhhhhhh"
That's my girl starting a little overthrow right on the playground
Christmas Eve was spent relaxing in the morning-wrapping a couple more gifts
Than heading over to Abuelito's house. Isabel's Princess Bunny finally got her Prince. They have been inseperable ever since. Joaquin got his first Little People toy-a bus, which he loves to play with. Our trunk was full with all the fun stuff they got. And they were both so excited it was almost impossible to get them to sleep.
Christmas morning we had to get them up earlier than normal so we could leave for G'ma & G'pas house. I tried waiting her up a couple times. Than I just said really loudly "OH WOW SANTA WAS HERE"
She jumped right up and was trying to throw back her covers "oh SANTA SANTA"
And she goes running to the living room and sees her dollhouse and the stockings and she checked on the cookies that she had left for Santa and got so excited when she saw he had ate them.
Dada finally got Joaquin to wake up and brought him out. Isabel tried showing him everything but he was still a little groggy. But than the wrapping paper and tissue started to fly. Joaquin was perfectly happy with just playing with the tissue paper. Isabel was unfortunately just moving from one present to the next than moving onto Joaquin's presents.
After all that we had to get them ready for Gpa & Gma's, especially since we were already getting texts from Auntie Tanya and Uncle Seann.
But the getting up early was hitting Isabel and we had one tantrum after another. She wanted to bring her dollhouse to show Gpa. She didn't like the outfit we had pick out.
She wanted to bring her dollhouse with her. She wanted pancakes for breakfast. Than her moodiness was bringing out Joaquin's fussiness so yeah it wasn't too pleasant for awhile. But once we found an outfit she approved of and got her some food and told her Uncle Seann and Auntie Tanya would be at Gma & Gpas she was all ready. The whole way over she was talking about Santa and what he had brought. And than they both took a mini nap which left them both a little out of it when we got to the house.
Than it was onto more presents. Again Joaquin just wanted to put everything into his mouth and get into everything. Isabel wanted to open everyone's presents and even threw a nice little tantrum in the beginning. But things soon settled down. And we had so much fun. Than after that Uncle Seann and Auntie Tanya took over Isabel duty and she was perfectly happy with that. Uncle Seann taught her how to use the new scooter he bought her, she is still talking about how "Uncle Seann teach me how to use my foot like this" They took her to the park-where of course there was an injury. She went down the slide too early and jammed her ankle on another kid. She was limping but than would jumped down the stairs but did like getting to sit with Gma's ice pack on her ankle.
Joaquin was putting on his usual show, especially after Dada took him upstairs where he could walked around and stretch out.
Than everyone else showed up and we ate and ate some more, than opened more gifts and just relaxed. Definitely our best christmas ever.
But boy were those kids spoiled :) It just shows how many people love them.
