Auntie Latanya went upstairs to start getting her makeup on and Isabel followed. She was fascinated by the whole process and very much wanted to get involved. By the time they were finished Isabel had some lovely make up on as well.
We grabbed a quick dinner than it was off to get the kids ready. Isabel was so excited. She saw the turtleneck I had brough to wear under her costume and she got all worried "No mama, I don't need to wear that, I'm going to wear my ballerina dress" "I know Isabel this is for underneath so you won't get cold" "oh I'll be ok mama" After about 5 minutes I was able to convince her. Than we got started on her makeup. Thanks to Auntie Latanya for letting us borrow her makeup. However also thanks to Auntie Latanya, Isabel wanted the black makeup not the pretty pink stuff. And again I had to convince her to go for the pink stuff. She was just loving looking at herself in the mirror and seeing it all sparkly. Than silly mama, thought she was grabbing shimmer powder but was really grabbing bronzing powder. I tried to rubbed some stuff off, but 1)that stuff really stays on, 2)Isabel was just so ready to go it was too hard. In the dark you couldn't see it too much but in the pictures she is definitely one bronzed ballerina. We put her wig and hat on and she was practically running out the door.
Next was Joaquin who was a lot easier, at least this year. I really tried to get some pictures but Isabel being Isabel didn't want them, she just wanted to go trick or treating. So here's the first pics I got of her.
Than I told her we couldn't go trick or treating until I got some pretty pictures of her, in typical Isabel fashion here is the complete 180.

And trying to get pictures of the 2 of them together was pretty much impossible. So this is the best I got. Joaquin was pulling her hair.

Here's some pics I took earlier of Joaquin.
And Joaquin and Gma

Than it was on to trick or treating. She pretty much knew exactly what to do, I just had to point in her the right direction. Here she is at the first house.
After that it was a piece of cake. Sometimes she would forget to say Thank You or Trick or Treat but would just need a little reminder. At one house she surprise us. She got her candy and was about to walk away when we reminded her to say Thank You, so she turned around, ran back and held up her hand and gave the lady a high five. The people at house thought it was so cute. And Isabel was very pleased with herself.
At another house, they had a guy scaring people. The lady of the house saw Isabel and said "Oh ok it's a little one, no scaring", but Isabel saw the man and very prettily waves at him and says "HI!!!". And more laughter. The lady was so thrilled, she told Isabel "Oh you get 2 candies for that one."
It did seem like Isabel was getting told at a lot of houses that she could take extra candy. And as Moe said "I know I may biased, but it seems like she is getting more compliments that any of the other kids" Noooo that's not biased at all :)
Afterall isn't she just the cutest
At first Joaquin was pretty content to just sit in his stroller and people watch,
but towards the end he was yelling and clapping and just joining in the fun.
In total I think we were out a little over an hour, she would of gone longer but Mama and Dada were getting tired plus I knew she would need a potty break pretty soon. We headed back to Gma and Gpa's where she had her only injury of the night (you knew there had to be at least one right?), you can't really see anything but you can hear her "Ouch!" She was just so excited to show Gma & Gpa her goodies she tripped over a rock.
After that she even shared some of her candy with Uncle Seann and Auntie Latanya. (And again these videos are mostly for the sounds.)
And had to dewig. I took her inside for a little break so I could get her to drink some water and go potty, she got to snack on some M&M's. Isn't she so pretty!
Than back outside to play in the graveyard and help pass out candy.
It was a great night!! Halloween '09 definitely our best one yet!
